CTA banner

The CTA banner breaks up sections of a page, and draws the user's eye to an important piece of information. CTA banners are only used on single column pages, and a maximum of two should appear on one page.

Full-width banners

The banner consists of:

  • a short call to action on the left
  • a button on the right that allows the user to click through to complete the action.

Character count
  1. Heading — Recommended 25, 2 lines maximum, 50 maximum
  2. CTA - 30 maximum, 1 line maximum

Best practice

Purpose

The banner should relate to the main purpose of the page or page section.

Positioning

The banner should be positioned midway down the page or lower, after the main purpose of the page has been presented to the user.

Button

The button text should describe where the user will go or what they will be expected to do if they click it. For example: Apply now; Register here; See courses.
